Mole's Progressive Democrat

The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. For anyone who wants to be alerted by email whenever this newsletter is updated (usually weekly), please send your email address and let me know what state you live in (so I can keep track of my readership).

    Progressive Democrat Newsletter Issue 258

Primary season is in full swing. May 18 is the big one when we determine if Blanche Lincoln or Bill Halter will be the Democratic candidate for Arkansas' Senate seat. Blanche Lincoln is a machine candidate who has been siding with Republicans on almost every issue recently while Bill Halter is an outsider who is far more progressive. Here are some videos of Bill Halter in action:

I was born in Arkansas, so I feel a particular desire to see Arkansas represented by good people. Bill Halter is an excellent and deserves our support. You can donate through my Healthcare4America Act Blue Site. This is one primary that we can win if we all pitch in.

Lots of important stuff in this week's newsletter. Scientists fighting back against the right wing propaganda machine. A direct link between the Arizona "we hate immigrants" Republican Party leadership and the KKK. The possible return of Social Security and Medicare "reform." And I continue to highlight excellent candidates all over the country that need your help to win. Keep up the good work. We can keep the momentum for change going in America, but only if we work for it.

    Here is this week's newsletter:
