    Iowa Wind Industry Nationally Recognized

This comes from the Iowa Democratic Party:

Radio Iowa reports this morning that the Environmental Law and Policy Center (ELPC) has named Iowa as having more wind energy jobs than other states.

Just how big is the wind industry in Iowa? The ELPC was able to identify 79 separate companies that make up the wind energy supply chain, including 7 international manufacturing companies that create jobs across the state.

Despite this obvious success, Iowa Republicans continue to threaten its future. During the campaign, and over the past month, they have attacked the Iowa Power Fund despite it’s success in bringing these companies and jobs to Iowa while leveraging nearly $300 million in private investments.

“Iowa has more of a stake than almost any other state in the country when it comes to wind power development and getting state and federal policies right,”

    -ELPC Executive Director Howard Learner

Why would the Republicans oppose wind energy in Iowa? I mean it CREATES good, solid American jobs and gives us clean, green energy! Yet they oppose this extremely successful industry. Why?

Could it be that some of their main donors are oil companies like BP and Exxon/Mobil? Republicans seem determined to undermine industries that create American jobs and clean energy and instead support companies that pollute and oursource our jobs overseas.

Call your State Representative and Senator. (Find them here.) Tell them Iowans want clean renewable energy as one of the engines of our new economy.

Take this a step further. In all seriousness, Green Energy is vital for America's economic recovery and Republicans have to know Iowans want economic recovery. Here are the email addresses of some local media outlets. Write to them to express your opinion:
