Mole's Progressive Democrat

The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. For anyone who wants to be alerted by email whenever this newsletter is updated (usually weekly), please send your email address and let me know what state you live in (so I can keep track of my readership).

California Focus: Re-elect James Ramos to the San Bernardino Community College District Board of Trustees

From the Indigenous Democratic Network (INDN List):

James C. Ramos was the first tribal member ever elected to the San Bernardino Community College District Board of Trustees in 2005. James is now President of the Board, a leadership post that helps ensure Indian students receive the same educational opportunities as all other students.

James is Chairman of San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, a local businessman, and real estate investor. As founder of the San Manuel Cultural Awareness Program, Ramos is creating programs that promote awareness of the history, culture, and language of the San Manuel Band and the role of Indians of all tribes in California history.

President Ramos is seeking re-election to the San Bernardino Community College District Board of Trustees.

Elected positions like this can be so important for our educational system yet are so often ignored. We cannot ignore these positions because the right wing focuses on them and tries to fill them with their own fanatics who then try to influence what our kids learn. Let's keep our educational system reality based.

James Ramos has been endorsed by:

San Bernardino Community College Teachers Association

San Bernardino Community College California School Employee Association

San Bernardino County Safety Employees’ Benefit Association

    San Bernardino Public Employees Association

National Latino Peace Officers Association San Bernardino/Riverside County Chapter

Communications Workers of America Local 9573

Peace Officers Research Association of California

    San Bernardino Police Officers Association

    Teamsters Joint Council 42
