Mole's Progressive Democrat

The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. For anyone who wants to be alerted by email whenever this newsletter is updated (usually weekly), please send your email address and let me know what state you live in (so I can keep track of my readership).

Progressive Democrat Issue 81: NYC FOCUS

Here are a series of events to help win the State Senate this year. From Act Now:

Sunday, July 9th: Major Rally with Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Deputy Dem Leader Eric Schneiderman

In 2004, Andrea came within 18 votes of unseating entrenched Republican State Senator Nick Spano!! Now she's back for a rematch, and, this time, New York's grassroots progressive groups are coming to her aid.

Let's retake the State Senate! Come learn how over a burger (beef or veggie) and brew with Andrea. RSVP HERE

Sat, July 15th: Seize the State Senate Westchester Canvassing Trip

    TAKE A FIELD TRIP!!!

Join us and Manhattan Young Democrats to raise awareness and increase turnout in Dobbs Ferry, a critical swing town in one of New York's most competitive State Senate races. The Westchester district is overwhelmingly Democratic, meaning that whether we finally unseat the 20-year Republican incumbent is up to us: can we do the work to get people to vote in a non-presidential election year? We think we can. Join us!

    More details and RSVP HERE.

Wed, July 12th & 19th: Seize the State Senate Weekly Landline Phone Banking

Join us for our weekly round of low-pressure Voter ID and Education calls into some of the most competitive New York State Senate districts. Let’s take it back and give our future Democratic Governor the chance to enact a major reform agenda.

Results so far: 3 calling sessions, 1,220 calls made

July 12th: Details and RSVP Here.
