Missed this last newsletter: an open letter from the McHenry Democrats:

To the President of the United States, the SEAL [Sea Air (and)Land] team that carried out the raid and death of Osama Bin Ladin, and to the members of the United States Armed Forces, who sacrifice night and day to keep this the land of the free, on behalf of myself, my family, my friends and the nation I've always been so proud to call mine, I offer you my undying thanks.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Democratic Party of McHenry County, I would also like to thank all of those who called me, facebooked and e-mailed me to inquire after my health. It's still bad, but it's improving. Slowly, but sometimes improvement comes that way.

This blog will be-hopefully- a regulare contribuion to the country party, containing my opinions, views, and commenary. All of those, by the way, are subjective. That means they're opinion, and anyone who knows me will tell you that I have opinions to spare.

To the GOP, the Grand Old Party. Yeah,sure. If President Obama came out in favor of motherhood and three meals a day for the entire world the GOP would find fault somewhere.

The Birthers and Birther bill backers, Really? Really? Is that the best you got? C'mon folks, look around you. There are some very serious problems to be faced in this country and we need serious people to face them.

Now that Osama is dead, I'm waiting for that twit Trump to demand to see the death certificate so he can claim the glory of forcing the president to show it to us. Donald? Go away, dude. You are completely irrelevant. You are transparently catering to the lesser members of the Tea Party and no one-except you-takes you seriously.

The economy. Ladies and gentlemen, I don't know about where you live, but in the general area in which I lvie, WL, McHenry, Crystal Lake, there are increasing numbers of signs that say Help Wanted. Are we roaring out of the recession? Hell no, The Cheney/Bush circus took eight years of concentrated effort to drive the strongest economy in the world into a recession deeper than the Marianas Trench, so it cannot realistically be expected to jump up like a boxer not smart enough to wait for the eight count.

The TP'ers who went to DC with the promise of delivering immediate jobs and tax cuts and smaller government...uh, where exactly did you go? You and John Boehner have made life even more miserable for the aged, the sick, the lame, the infirm. How proud you must be to know that your efforts are directed toward making the world a harder place for those who can least negotiate it. How proud, truly proud you must be to have abandoned them.

CURRENT TV:
Current TV, founded by Al Gore, includes some of the best journalism in America today. In particular their Vanguard series is amazing and should not be missed by ANYONE who wants to know in depth coverage of some of the major stories in the world. And it now becomes the new home of Kieth Olbermann.

The Democratic Party of McHenry County is a small group of dedicated volunteers focused on our primary mission of electing Democratic candidates to local offices, from the municipal level up to the state legislature. We support this mission by recruiting and training candidates, by raising money to promote our candidates and our message, and by supporting a progressive social, environmental, and economic agenda here in McHenry County. Recent elections have proven that our message is resonating strongly even here in this traditionally Republican county. But there is much more to do, and it will take the efforts of all of us, working together, to make our community reach its potential.
