Mole's Progressive Democrat

The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. For anyone who wants to be alerted by email whenever this newsletter is updated (usually weekly), please send your email address and let me know what state you live in (so I can keep track of my readership).

Wisconsin Focus: A Tale of Two Candidates

On July 29th the Democratic Party of Wisconsin released its first television advertisement of the 2010 gubernatorial race with a spot that highlights Scott Walker's self-serving decision to abandon Milwaukee County to go campaigning in the midst of historic and deadly flooding:

This reminds me of the contrast between Al Gore and George Bush in the aftermath of Katrina. Al Gore rented planes with his own money to rescue people stranded by the floods...George Bush went to John McCain's birthday party. Democrats care about people when times get tough. Republicans don't seem to give a damn. The evidence is in their actions.
