DALLAS ACTION ALERT: Volunteers needed for the Bill White campaign in Dallas.

Houston Mayor Bill White is running for Governor of Texas against incumbent Republican and avowed friend of BP Rick Perry. Despite Republican Perry's ability to raise huge donations from oil executives and the very rich (About 20 percent of Perry's money comes from ony 25 wealthy donors who gave at least $50,000 each), Bill White has raised more money than Perry, making this a competitive race.

Rick Perry is the oil company candidate while Bill White has been endorsed by the League of Conservation voters. Burnt Orange Report has also endorsed Bill White and had an excellent endorsement article back in February that is worth a read.

I hear the Bill White campaign is in particular need of volunteers in Dallas, so you, my readers in Dallas, are in demand. A campaign is only as good as its volunteers, so PLEASE take some time to help out Bill White and defeat BP's buddy, Rick Perry. Your efforts can make a big difference.

RACIST, ANTI-SEMITIC FANATICS COME TO DALLAS:

The Westboro Baptist Church is one of the nastiest group of hate-mongers in America. They love to have anti-gay and anti-Jewish protests at the funerals of American soldiers and they go to neighborhood synagogues and schools and preach anti-Semitism and homophobia. They came to my neighborhood in Brooklyn some time back. But the story from the inside (told by a son of the Wesboro Cult Leader, Fred Phelps) is even more frightening (story not for the faint of heart).

Well the Wesboro Cult of Hatred recently came to Dallas to protest in front of the Dallas Holocaust Museum (yes...they hate Jews THAT MUCH), and the Gay & Lesbian Resource Center. Dallas showed them their message of intolerance was not welcome:
