Mole's Progressive Democrat

The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. For anyone who wants to be alerted by email whenever this newsletter is updated (usually weekly), please send your email address and let me know what state you live in (so I can keep track of my readership).

Progressive Democrat Issue 94: URGENT NATIONAL GOTV EFFORTS

    CAMPAIGNS: Winning in 2006

We have a mere few days to win. And winning depends on you. So, here are the GOTV efforts you can do from home between now and Tuesday. I BEG you to be a part of these efforts!

HELP NY STATE (AND CALIFORNIA) FROM HOME:John Hall for Congress (also cooperating after 9 PM with McNerney campaign in California! Focus on TWO House races in one shot!) sign up to phone bank FROM YOUR OWN HOME here: http://www.johnhallforcongress.com/node/108

HELP NEVADA FROM HOME:Jack Carter for Senate Phone Bank from Home: help Nevada from home! To help Jimmy Carter's son win the Nevada Senate, SIGN UP HERE.

HELP VIRGINIA FROM HOME: Jim Webb for Senate Phone Bank from Home: Jim Webb is locked in one of the closest Senate races this year, and his opponent is an odious, racist Republican we really HAVE to defeat. Please help by phone banking for Webb from home.

HELP OHIO FROM HOME: Jennifer Brunner for Ohio Secretary of State Phone Bank from Home: Want to make Ohio's elections reliable again? If so, we need Jennifer Brunner as Ohio Secretary of State. Please help by phone banking for Jennifer from home. This race is close and your efforts can help guarantee fair elections in Ohio.

If you can't phone bank, you can still donate. This really is the final push and money is needed almost as much as volunteer time. I recommend visiting one of the following Act Blue pages depending on your philosophy:

If you favor defense, protecting our weaker seats and avoiding over confidence, please donate to my Pessimistic Democrat Act Blue Site. This site focuses on the races we need to most defend and the close races that we could still lose through inattention or spreading ourselves too thin.

If you think we are poised to win big this year and want to push that win as far as we can take it, please donate to my Optimistic Democrat Act Blue Site. This site focuses on races that are somewhat longshots but still quite possible pick ups. If we are going to completely rout the Republicans, these are the races to win.

And if you REALLY want to kick ass this year, please donate to my Reddest to Blue Act Blue site. This site focuses on those races that were originally thought to be solid, safe red that have unexpectedly become tossups or only barely leaning Republican. These would be some of the best pick ups, from Idaho to Wyoming to Montana. This site is dedicated to turning some of the reddest states blue. All are winnable races, though some are long shots.
