Mole's Progressive Democrat

The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. For anyone who wants to be alerted by email whenever this newsletter is updated (usually weekly), please send your email address and let me know what state you live in (so I can keep track of my readership).

    STRONG PROGRESSIVE CANDIDATES IN OHIO:

Donna O'Connor for State Representative - District 21

    From Progressive Majority:

Donna has taught for 19 years in local school systems in Ohio. She has been involved in local and state politics for several years and fought hard against SB 5/Issue 2, the union-busting bill. Last year while standing on the steps of the state house, a friend gave her a button that said, “those that can, teach. Those that cannot, make laws about teaching.” Donna is running to make sure that those making the laws about education know what it’s like to work in the classroom.

Donna O'Connor has been endorsed by Progressive Majority and by the Ohio Education Association. From the Ohio Education Association endorsement:

“For 19 years, Donna has been focused on doing what is best for students, and Franklin County is better for it. In the Legislature, she will be a consistent advocate for public education, which we all know is the basis of a strong economy and strong communities,” said Joy Bock, a Social Studies teacher from Groveport Madison and Chair of the regional OEA Screening Committee. “Donna is exactly what we need in the state legislature to improve education and put the needs of the middle-class first.”

Mark Hill, President of the Worthington Education Association “Too many in our state legislature don’t listen to or even respect school teachers and public employees. Last year, Governor Kasich and his allies locked us out and ignored educators and parents, and we cannot afford two more years without our voice being heard. Donna is a winner and a fighter and we’d all be better off with more teachers and education professionals in the Legislature.”

Please checkout Donna O'Connor's website to see how you can help win this critical race.
