It's been nearly one year since we passed the Affordable Care Act, and Americans of all ages and backgrounds now have greater access to affordable health coverage.
New tax credits are helping small businesses provide coverage for their employees, young adults can stay on their parents' plan up to age 26, seniors are receiving discounts on prescriptions, and insurance companies can't deny coverage to kids with pre-existing conditions.
Learn more about the Affordable Care Act's benefits at a community forum with Congressman Keith Ellison on Wednesday, March 23 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Sabathani Community Center, located at 310 East 38th Steet in south Minneapolis.

The local Minneapolis affiliate of Howard Dean's Democracy for America. The progressive grassroots at its best.
We meet on the first Wednesday of each month at Diamonds Coffee Shoppe, 1618 Central Ave. NE, Minneapolis--three blocks north of Broadway.
From the ballot box to the classroom, the dedicated workers, organizers, and leaders who forged this great organization and maintain its status as a champion of social justice, fought long and hard to ensure that the voices of African Americans would be heard. For one hundred years, the talent and tenacity of NAACP members have saved lives and changed many negative aspects of American society.
