Progressive Alliance - Cook County
For info or to get involved: ProgressiveAllianceCookCounty@gmail.com
Mission:
The Progressive Alliance - Cook County (PA-CC) is a coalition of emerging leaders working to engage and unify the many Progressive, Independent, and Reform organizations in Cook County. These organizations share common interests—but rarely share resources. By identifying and activating the next generation of Cook County residents, we can take ownership of the electoral process and public policy.
We envision a Cook County where:
• residents feel a sense of connection, urgency, and progress within the political process,
• the officials we elect are public servants, and
• government protects human rights and invests in the long-term stability of communities.
Products:
OBJECTIVE A
Forge a lasting community of Progressive, Independent, and Reform organizations and leaders.
OBJECTIVE B
Beginning locally in 2010, work to ensure an accessible electoral process ultimately solidifying Cook County as a staging ground for 2012 and beyond.
OBJECTIVE C
Ensure sustainable communities through a policy platform which delivers comprehensive and efficient social services, protects equality and human rights, and supports transparent and accountable government.

Chicago Sustainable Development & New Urbanism Meetup Group
Meet other local people who are interested in Sustainable Development and New Urbanism.
Let's define what we mean by "sustainable," "energy-efficient," "green," etc. and then work toward making it happen here in Chicago! What are the building blocks of "sustainability?" What are the most important issues that need to be addressed? What issues are important to you when you look at your home, your neighborhood and your city? What actions can we take to effect true change that benefits everyone? We hope to answer these questions through conversations with local experts and other community members.
Let's work toward having more energy-efficient, healthy and "sustainable" options when looking for a new home. Let's create neighborhoods that are of human scale, cohesive and prepared for the future. Let's restore our urban fabric and communities!
