New York Focus: Join Act Now in Helping John Hall and Joe Sestak beat the Republicans

From now until election day you can spend a weekend making history. This election will decide whether we can continue to rebuild America and effect progressive change or if Republicans will force us backed to failed Bush policies. You can help beat back two Bush Republicans, one in NY State and one in Pennsylvania.

    This comes from Act Now:

...join ACT NOW as we team up with Organizing for America and other progressive organizations to go door-to-door on behalf of Congressman John Hall.

RSVP for our Saturday and Sunday canvasses

John Hall represents a historically conservative district, but has been a strong progressive vote in Congress, supporting health care reform, financial reform, and the stimulus package. His opponent, Republican Nan Hayworth, is a self-avowed Reaganite, who believes that the way to prosperity is a freeze on all non-military discretionary spending, a freeze on stimulus spending, and repealing health care reform.

The most recent poll shows Hall and Hayworth neck-and-neck. It's our job to hit the streets to tell voters this is not the time to revert to trickle-down economics. John Hall brought $8.2 million in stimulus funds to help a struggling Veterans Administration hospital in their district, and over $6 million to restore Peach Lake, an important source of water for the district and for New York City - both projects creating much-needed jobs in the area.

RSVP for our Saturday and Sunday canvasses

Next up, join our upcoming PA canvasses and Manhattan phone banks for Joe Sestak, a strong progressive running against anti-regulation Club for Growth darling Pat Toomey. Sestak won a come-from-behind primary against Arlen Specter to gain the Democratic nomination, and recent polls show him closing in on Toomey as well.

RSVP for our PA Canvasses for Sestak.

RSVP for our Manhattan phone banks for Sestak.

...it's not too early to sign up to canvass or phone bank on Election Day. We will be running canvasses to PA and to Hall's district and we need every last person with us!

    RSVP for election day.

You can make the difference. Help Act Now stop the Bush Republicans from coming back into power.
