From New York's mayor Bloomberg's gutting of the schools to profit private contractors to right wing attempts to stop proper science and history education in the schools of Florida and Texas, right wingers are trying to destroy the educational system that made America such a technological and economic powerhouse. Have Republicans forgotten how in the 1950's President Eisenhower pushed for better and better science education precisely to give America a technological edge? If modern Republicans have their way America will fall behind China, Russia, Germany, Japan and India in technology. Why do Republicans hate America?
