The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. North Carolina Focus: Bill Kennedy for Congress (NC-5)

Bill Kennedy is a working class, hard working Democrat running for congress in the NC-5 district against Virginia Foxx, one of the most odious extremists in Congress.

Virginia Foxx was one of only 11 cold-hearted Republicans who supported no-bid contracts for the corrupt Halliburton but opposed helping Katrina victims. She also is one of only 33 racist Republicans who opposed extension of the Voting Rights Act in July 2006. She has thus shown she doesn't care about actual American citizens, only big business. Foxx's biggest contribution to American law making was actually to introduce an act to praise the Christmas Tree industry. Yes...she opposed voting rights and helping Katrina victims, but she introduced a bill to praise Christmas Trees. So she loves Christmas trees but hates black people and working class Americans.

By contrast, Bill Kennedy IS a working class American:

“I chose to earn a living with my hands, and I can see how average people have been treated recently. Certainly not like bankers or members of Congress,” says Billy.

And here is Bill Kennedy introducing himself:

If you live in the NC-5 district, please volunteer to help Bill Kennedy go to Congress and represent YOU rather than the insurance, mercenary, and oil companies that Foxx represents.

If you live anywhere, you can donate to support Bill Kennedy's campaign through my Katrina 11 Act Blue site. We have to show the cold-hearted Republicans that refusing to support Americans in distress will not be accepted by voters.
