Busy week! And I may have to soon take time off from the newsletter. If not before then, I will be at a conference and on vacation in California at the end of June/beginning of July, so may well take that time largely off from the newsletter. May have to before then as well given the amount of work I have, but we'll see.

So it seems, in between some great speeches, Obama discovered his own likeness in Egyptian hieroglyphs:

It is pronounced like the word “hair” and is commonly spelled “her” by Egyptologists. The hieroglyph was spotted by President Obama in the ancient tomb of Qar when he quipped, “that looks like me!”

The hieroglyph often means “because,” or ”on account of.”

Coincidence or did the ancient Egyptians predict the election of Barack Obama?

Let me include in this newsletter tributes to two wonderful celebrities who died this week. First Koko Taylor, one of the greatest blues singers ever and one of the first powerful female voices in the blues, let alone R and B or Rock. Then David Carradine, who was great in Kill Bill, but I always remember him from the 1970's series Kung Fu.
