VIRGINIA ACTION ALERT: End Workplace Discrimination

As your constituent, I am writing to urge you to support HB 2385, legislation that will help stop workplace discrimination against state and local employees.
On his first day in office, Governor Tim Kaine signed Executive Order #1 prohibiting discrimination against state employees on the basis of race, sex, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, age, political affiliation, veteran status or disability.
Unfortunately, the Virginia General Assembly has never passed legislation protecting the state or local workforce from discrimination. It is now time to codify the Governor's Executive Order and extend its reach to local employees, helping to ensure that future generations of employees are protected from workplace discrimination.
