    Support Georgia Hate Crime Legislation

This is the third week I have highlighted this, but it is important enough to keep pushing it.

    This comes from Georgia Equality:

Tell your lawmakers it's time for a Hate Crimes law in Georgia!

Georgia Equality is asking you to immediately contact your state Senator and state Representative and ask them to call for a hearing on hate crimes legislation in Georgia.

Please click the link below to ask your Senator to support SB 234 and your Representative to support HB 111.

Contact Your State Senator & Representative

Georgia is one of five states without any form of hate crimes legislation.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Vernon Keenan has repeatedly asked the General Assembly to pass hate crimes legislation based on recommendations from the International Association of Chiefs of Police, which expressly recommends protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons within hate crimes statutes.

You can learn more about Hate Crimes at the Southern Poverty Law Center website.
