Mole's Progressive Democrat

The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. For anyone who wants to be alerted by email whenever this newsletter is updated (usually weekly), please send your email address and let me know what state you live in (so I can keep track of my readership).

Here is a candidate endorsed by the Indigenous Democratic Network (INDN List):

    Representative Woodie Salmon
Candidate for Alaska State House of Represntatives, House District 6
    Enrolled Member of Chalkyitsik Village

Representative Woodie Salmon is seeking re-election to Alaska’s House District 6. He is an enrolled member of the Chalkyitsik Nation. We endorsed Representative Salmon in 2006, and we are proud to do so again!

Representative Salmon wasted no time in protecting our most vulnerable and valuable assets. He has proposed bills protecting children, the unemployed and small rural communities. He also introduced a bill requiring school districts to develop and enforce policies to stop harassment and intimidation so that students can learn in a positive and nurturing environment. He has also written legislation to protect children from online predators, promote diversity-tolerance programs, and protect victims of discrimination based on race, sex, color, creed, disability, sexual orientation, ancestry and national origin.

Representative Salmon believes families in communities large and small equally deserve the services of their government. He seeks to ensure the protection of rural Alaskan families by providing rural communities with adequate law enforcement.

With his Democratic colleagues in the House, Representative Salmon supported increases in unemployment benefits to help families across the state overcome adversity and build a better Alaska.

Here is video from Mark's website outlining Mark's energy plan:

Again, you can help win Alaska this year (Benson for House, Begich for Senate, Obama for President) through my Alaska Act Blue site.
