OREGON SENATE:
Until recently the Oregon Senate race looked like a long shot. But better fundraising numbers and nearly tied polls are indicating that Jeff Merkley now has a real shot of winning. This falls very nicely into the category of races that I like to target early, before it looks like a close race, and then watch as the Dem catches up. This strategy worked well in 2006 and is likely to work well in 2008.
The Democratic candidate for Oregon's Senate seat is Jeff Merkley. Merkley has MAJOR union support as well as the support of the Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood, 21st Century Democrats, and Council for a Livable World, among MANY others. You can read Merkley's stands on the issues here.
Here is a video from the Merkley campaign: Senator Ron Wyden endorses Jeff Merkley

Even more importantly, you can become a Neighborhood Leader for the Oregon Democratic Party and be a major part of Victory 2008.
