Progressive Democrat Issue 93: VIRGINIA FOCUS
As I said in the Thoughts section, we now have another VA House race that is looking competitive, with a third one looking up as well. We all know Phil Kellam is kicking ass in the VA-2 race, one of the hottest races in the nation. If you live in VA-2, please help GOTV for Kellam!
But now VA-10 and VA-5 are looking up, too. The more momentum Democrats build, the more races could be pulled along, and these two could turn into victories if we work on them. Judy Feder, running in VA-10, is a mere 5 points behind, and momentum seems with her. She is up against a Republican incumbent who votes Bush's way 90% of the time, one of Bush's best lap dogs. So this is a race really worth winning, and, for the first time this year, it is looking winnable. Judy has on her site a link for people to write letters to the editor. Please write a letter to the editor expressing your suport for Judy and your disgust for the Republican party.
VA-5 has been a longshot all along. But it has picked up in recent weeks. And many races this year that looked like longshots are now looking like victories. I predicted some time ago that 4-6 NY State races would be close, and that has become true. I think VA-5 has potential. Al Weed is our candidate. He has been endorsed by Vet PAC, AFL-CIO, Farmers Union, Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood and NARAL. So he's a good man! Please, if you live in VA-5, give Al some of your time.
I continue to emphasize the critcal position of Virginia in this year's election. Donate or volunteer! It really means alot.
