Progressive Democrat Issue 75: NATIONAL ACTION: Global Warming!
This is from the Union of Concerned Scientists:
On Wednesday May 17, the House of Representatives will vote on the Department of Interior Appropriations Bill. Last week, the Appropriations Committee added an important resolution calling for mandatory global warming emission reductions. This week, an amendment will be offered to the bill to protect your right to know about toxic chemicals in your community. Please tell your representative to support these efforts to curb global warming and ensure your neighborhood is safe and healthy.
Let me add my own note to this. Global warming is becoming a stark, harsh reality for the world. My wife studies climatology. The scientists in her field are, quite literally, becoming very scared of what the future holds and many are beginning to wonder if we are running out of time to act.
If we don't want to condemn our children to a future standard of living that is FAR below what we have enjoyed, we must act now. Please visit the Union of Concerned Scientists website to pressure your Representative to DO SOMETHING to preserve our children's future.
And please go here to find 10 ways you can personally help reduce global warming emissions.
