Mole's Progressive Democrat

The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. For anyone who wants to be alerted by email whenever this newsletter is updated (usually weekly), please send your email address and let me know what state you live in (so I can keep track of my readership).

Progressive Democrat Issue 38: NYC FOCUS

A reminder from Brooklyn activist Marjorie Gersten: there are only FOUR WEEKS until the primaries, September 13. Please leaflet at subways, concerts or green markets; phone bank; or volunteer to help on Election Day for your favorite candidates. You can find links to your local candidates at the DFNYC website (look on the left side of the screen)

Remember, MOST NYC elections are determined not in the November election, but in the Primary. So the grassroots need your efforts now to get good candidates elected. Without your participation, NYC politics is dominated by developers, big money interests and Party machines. WITH your participation, NYC politics can be honest and grassroots dominated. The choice is yours. GET ACTIVE WITH YOUR FAVORITE CANDIDATE, FOLKS!

And from DFNYC: DFNYC Needs Your Kitchen –Bake Cookies for Democracy –Sept. 8-12

DFNYC will be baking homemade cookies for the Primary Day volunteers. Please donate your kitchen for an evening or afternoon on the weekend before the September 13 primary.

Host a DFNYC Cookie Banking Party at your house!

We’ll help you set up your party to feed the primary day volunteers. Write to Heather at hwoodfield@dfnyc.org to set up and promote your party.
