Mole's Progressive Democrat

The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. For anyone who wants to be alerted by email whenever this newsletter is updated (usually weekly), please send your email address and let me know what state you live in (so I can keep track of my readership).

Progressive Democrat Issue 35: SUPREME COURT

The big news of the week is the nomination of John Roberts for Supreme Court. For this issue I will direct you to People for the American Way for information, actions and such. There is no better site out there for finding out about and fighting Bush's judicial nominees. There are just two things I want to emphasize about Roberts:

-He was on Bush's legal team during the Florida 2000 election legal cases

-He was deputy Investigator under Ken Starr

Is THIS someone we want appointed for life to the Supreme Court? Some are saying that we shouldn't fight him because he will probably make it through. But the truth is there is no reason we can't fight. Draw the lines! They may win but each time we put up a good fight, we take one more step towards dominating the debate and retaking our nation. Give 'em Hell!
