    Maricela has a long history of service to the legal profession through the Dallas Bar Association, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association and other professional organizations. She is currently President of the Mexican American Bar Association of Texas. Maricela also serves as a Trustee of the Dallas County School Board among other community service activities.

    Dallas Gas Drilling Task Force - Public Meeting
    10/27/2011 - 7:00pm

    The Gas Drilling Task Force was created to evaluate the environmental, health, safety, and quality of life impact of gas drilling in Dallas and is responsible for making recommendations to City Council regarding proposed revisions to the City's gas drilling zoning and permitting ordinances.

    In forming recommendations, the Gas Drilling Task Force will review the following topics,

    including, but limited to:

    · Zoning requirements /· Permitting requirements /· Air quality issues /· Water-related issues

    By fall 2011, the Gas Drilling Task Force will conclude its work and make recommendations to City Council on any proposed changes to the City's gas drilling ordinances.

    As the Gas Drilling Task Force reviews and considers the City's current gas drilling ordinances, two meetings have been scheduled to receive public input on gas drilling in Dallas: (1) Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the L1F Auditorium at Dallas City Hall, 1500 Marilla Street; and (2) Thursday, October 27, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 6ES at Dallas City Hall, 1500
