Become a Precinct Committee Person in Sedgwick County!
This is one of the best ways to become a real part of your local community, linking your neighborhood with the local Democratic Party. I do the equivalent in my local area in New York and it has given me considerable insight and even a little bit of influence on local events.
Each precinct of the approximately 260 precincts in Sedgwick County is allowed one precinct committeeman and one precinct committeewoman. Precinct Committee Members are requested to attend the approximate four Sedgwick County Democratic Central Committee Meetings annually. They are the eyes and ears of their communities, working on behalf of candidates in their area, and ensuring that the Democratic vote in their precinct turns out on Election Day. Precinct Committee Members are also voting member of the Central Committee, representing all Democrats in their precinct. Without hard working Precinct Committee Members, Democrats cannot win elections!
Every two years, the State of Kansas requires Precinct Committee Members to be elected on the Primary ballot. Although the deadline for filing is June 10th, we are encouraging Democrats to file early so we can concentrate on filling vacant positions. To download the form to file, click here. Applications must be filled out and notarized. Although we are not able to notarize applications at our office, we will have a notary present at luncheons, meetings, and events. Applications that are filled out and notarized can be mailed or turned into Democratic HQ.
We are working hard to fill each precinct spot in our county, but we currently have many vacancies. To see if there is a vacancy in your precinct, call Democratic HQ at 316-262-7534.
Local Biodiesel in Wichita, Kansas:
Tired of your money going to Saudi Arabia, Iran or Venezuela every time you fill up your gastank? Well you can support a LOCAL business and LOCAL jobs by buying locally produced biodiesel for your diesel engine.
Healy Biodiesel is proud to now offer top quality Biodiesel fuel for sale. Our fuel is made right here in Sedgwick County Kansas out of local restaurant cooking oils. We offer a B99.9 blend which is 99.9% biodiesel and 0.1% petroleum diesel. As long as temperatures stay above 35 degrees overnight, any diesel engine will run great on B99.9 fuel made from similar feedstocks. If temperatures do dip below 35 degrees however, we recommend that you add a higher blend of diesel or kerosene to lower the cold flow properties of the fuel.
We want to thank everyone who is supporting American made alternative fuels. We wish we had enough biodiesel to supply the huge demand for diesel fuels but that is not always the case. Our fuel is sold on a first come first serve basis from our production facility in Sedgwick, KS. We can dispense fuel into a vehicle fuel tank, a large tanker truck, portable tanks and totes, 55 gallon drums, or even 5 gallon jugs. We now also have a delivery tanker so we can bring our fuel to you.
We always have beaten the price of petro diesel but please contact us for pricing or any other questions. Thank you for visiting our site, and God bless America.
