How The Governor Corbett Budget Hurts

The event is a non partisan voter education event in held on and in honor of Sunday, May Day, 2011, and is being held by the Philadelphia Area Black Radical Congress as well as other participating organizations such as the Philadelphia National Writers Union and the Philadelphia United for Peace and Justice Delaware Valley Network Education Committee regarding the cuts by Pennsylvania Governor Corbett. The event will be geared to working class and African American communities and everybody is invited to attend. There will be light refreshment, and a question and answer session at the end of the panel presentations.

After the election a core group of MoveOn veterans around the city decided to keep the energy and connections alive by continuing to hold monthly potlucks over the winter. When they discovered that similar activity was happening outside their own wards, the groups planned to form a new organization. They joined together at the University of Pennsylvania Law School in June, 2005, and Neighborhood Networks was born.
