Mole's Progressive Democrat

The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. For anyone who wants to be alerted by email whenever this newsletter is updated (usually weekly), please send your email address and let me know what state you live in (so I can keep track of my readership).

Irvine: Americans United for Separation of Church and State - Orange County Flicks for Thought: "Jesus Politics"
    Aug 21 Saturday 2:30pm

The 2008 election was not a religious contest, but for some, it might as well have been. This film was produced by an Israeli immigrant to America who came here to escape religious politics, only to find a growing undercurrent of religious influence on our elections. He documents the political support from religious organizations for candidates on both sides in the 2008 elections and what impact they had outside their local flocks. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Meeting will be held at Irvine Ranch Water District, 15600 Sand Canyon Ave., Irvine (IRWD neither supports nor endorses the cause nor the activities of organizations which use the district's meeting rooms that are made available as a public service) For more info visit the web site at au-oc.org or call 714-299-4551.

Orange County Biodiesel Cooperative: Working together to increase availability of biodiesel in the Orange County region. Biodiesel is better for the environment because it is made from renewable resources and has lower emissions compared to petroleum diesel. It is less toxic than table salt and biodegrades as fast as sugar. Since it is made in the USA from renewable resources such as soybeans, its use decreases our dependence on foreign oil and contributes to our own economy.
