Florida Focus: CFO Alex Sink's Florida Housing Help events provide assistance in America's foreclosure hotspots

This comes from Alex Sink's newsletter:

Florida CFO Alex Sink and the Financial Action Team in partnership with Wealth Watchers, Inc. hosted a Florida Housing Help (FHH) workshop last Saturday in Jacksonville to help Floridians facing foreclosure. Forbes magazine has ranked Jacksonville No. 1 as America’s next foreclosure capital. For the complete story, go to: http://www.forbes.com/2008/10/20/foreclosure-cities-ten-forbeslife-cx_mw_1020realestate.html.

Florida Housing Help WorkshopOver 110 people attended the event where they heard from a panel of experts on the available community resources for foreclosure assistance, and met with HUD-certified counselors and lenders. Panelists educated consumers on the loan modification process, foreclosure terminology, bankruptcy, and forced-placed homeowner insurance.Florida Housing Help Workshop

One consumer commented on the panelists’ knowledge by saying, “All presenters provided excellent information regarding their agency and services available to the community."

Several consumers expressed their gratefulness for the opportunity to speak face to face with counselors and lenders. One participant shared her feelings and said she was “very comfortable and relaxed and didn't feel downgraded." Future Florida Housing Help workshops taking place will be held on:

    Saturday, August 22: Enoch Davis Community Center, 1111 18th Ave. South, St. Petersburg 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

I also want to remind people that Alex Sink is running for Governor. Recently I highlighted the Florida Firefighters endorsement of Alex Sink for Governor. And here is a video of Alex Sink's announcement of her run for Governor:
