North Carolina Waste Awareness & Reduction Network
NC WARN (North Carolina Waste Awareness & Reduction Network) is a member-based nonprofit working to reduce damage to public health and the environment caused by industrial and radioactive pollution.
We focus on minimizing risks from nuclear power and other polluting electricity generation - by emphasizing conservation as the vital bridge to a sustainable future.
In partnership with other citizen groups, we use sound scientific research, advocacy and public education and involvement.

Global Warming and Clean Energy:
☼ Destruction from electricity generation is severe and increasing.
Power plants are a major source of ozone and mercury pollution, acid rain, and nuclear waste — and produce 42% of the carbon dioxide causing global climate change.
☼ A sustainable energy future IS within our reach.
Renewable generation technologies are now cost competitive and many excellent projects are underway. Renewable energy could become the dominant source of electricity within a decade if the U.S. commits to move from polluting to clean energy.
☼ The VITAL bridge is reducing energy consumption.
The only way society can transition from our present fossil and uranium based dilemma, to renewable energy, is by concurrently reducing electricity usage. Energy efficiency is easy, feasible, and saves money.
