DARWIN DAY 2009 EVENTS: Feb. 12, 2009
Darwin's 200th birthday, to be celebrated by the GLOBAL community as a toast to the common good of all humanity. We will all want to develop events to Celebrate Darwin, Science and Humanity and come together as one human family in appreciation of verifiable knowledge that has been acquired solely through human curiosity and ingenuity. Scientific knowledge has been of great value to all of us.

Kick off the winter blues and celebrate Darwin’s 200th birthday with The Morton Arboretum!
2009 marks the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth, and the 150th anniversary of the publication of The Origin of Species. In honor of Darwin’s tremendous contributions to science, The Morton Arboretum will be hosting a new lecture series, Trees of Life, in which scientists will discuss Darwin’s work in relation to their own work and the current state of evolutionary biology.
Join us on February 12 for an evening of discussion with Dr. Robert Martin, Curator of Biological Anthropology at The Field Museum. In this opening lecture, Dr. Martin will explore the evolutionary relationships of humans and primates. He’ll discuss the development of the field of primate evolution, from Darwin’s works to the present day, share results from his own research, and answer questions about evolutionary biology.
Dr. Martin is a scientist of international reputation, widely recognized as a leader in both primate biology and the origin of humans, and the author of the widely acclaimed Primate Origins and Evolution, which is a standard textbook in biological anthropology.

Alternative Energy in Illinois:
BIODIESEL: Biodiesel is clean, AMERICAN fuel that could be fueling many of our trains, trucks and diesel cars, as well as being used for heating fuel. All that while supporting American farmers, not Saudi oil shieks.
Here is a list of Biodiesel stations in Illinois. All diesel cars, trucks and furnaces can take at least up to B20 biodiesel. So almost all of these stations can be used to fuel ANY diesel vehicle.
Illinois Solar Energy Association: The ISEA was founded in 1975 and incorporated in the State of Illinois in 1979. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization supported by our members and volunteers.
