Mole's Progressive Democrat

The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. NYC Helps Pennsylvania Bus Trips: GOTV for Obama

Pennsylvania is one of this year's swing states. I think where goes Pennsylvania, there the election will go. Those who live in NYC or nearby can help get out the vote for Obama in Pennsylvania. This comes from a fellow member of the Independent Neighborhood Democrats:

If you're anything like me, it's been a long road to these final five weeks of the most important election of our time. Maybe it began for you in the spring or summer of 2007, with a crowded primary field and an unclear path to the finish. Or maybe it began on the plains of Iowa or in the snows of New Hampshire, in the streets of New York, or the byways of Pennsylvania. Maybe it's only come clear in the last two momentous weeks, as our way of life has been threatened, the gross mismanagement of our financial system has come into stark focus, and the infrastructure we depend upon government to protect has begun to unravel before our very eyes.

All those roads, miles, beginnings and journeys are strewn with memories, hopes, some disappointments, and some victories. But it makes no difference where you began because now it begins again. Everything you have ever believed has led to this moment when we put down our books and magazines, turn off the television, get up from our chairs, from the restaurant table and "Get on the Bus."

Following is a full schedule of Obama Campaign Bus Trips to Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley, a key region of a pivotal state. Each has a link to sign up on the campaign website.

Please arrive at the gate no later than 8:30 am to guarantee yourself a seat. The bus to Easton should depart from Gate 4 or 6. Please arrive early to purchase your ticket on the South Terminal main floor and make your way downstairs to the gate. Bus tickets are $37.95 round trip. The ride is about 1 hour 40 minutes. For those who would like to make a weekend of it, supporter housing is available for all dates and during the week, as well. Just let me know in your reply, and we'll hook you up with a local Obama supporter willing to offer up their home to you and our cause.

Thank you to everyone for your time and commitment. Please RSVP with your selected dates so I can provide a headcount to Obama's team in the Lehigh Valley.

    Very best wishes,

    Tom Predhome
