Vito Fossella also happens to be a pro-war Bush Republican with several corruption allegations.
You can help defeat this drunken Bush Republican by donating to his Democratic opponent, Steve Harrison. I know Steve. He is an upright kind of guy.

Jimmy Dahroug is acandidate for State Senate in Suffolk County. If we are going to win the State Senate in 2008, this is our top priority race. Jimmy Dahroug is an excellent progressive candidate running against a Bush Republican. Jimmy came close to winning in 2006...and this year he has far more backing and money. So I am convinced we can win this one this year if we all pull together.

The Urban Center, 457 Madison Ave. Many observers opine that community-driven plans—official and approved through a city process or unofficial but widely recognized—are no real hedge against unwanted development. But in the cases of West Harlem, Midtown East, and Atlantic Yards, would developers have had carte blanche without community plans? How do community planners believe alternative plans can be more effective? How can alternative plans guarantee that future development will fit consensus-based neighborhood visions? We’ll look at some recent cases—West Harlem, Midtown East, and Prospect Heights/Fort Greene—where developer-driven plans threaten to undermine community vision, and examine the place of community-based planning in these struggles.

Rep. Vito J. Fossella (R-N.Y.) was arrested overnight in Alexandria and charged with driving while intoxicated, court records showed today.
Fossella is scheduled to appear in Alexandria General District Court on May 12 for an advisement hearing, the records said.
No other details were immediately available.
Reached by phone, Fossella's communication director had no immediate comment on the report.
Shocking, I know.
