A Personal Appeal: Help Me Beat a NYC Republican

Here in NYC we have one (count him...ONE) Republican Congressional Rep., representing the NY-13 district. His name is Vito Fossella. He sometimes denies he is a Republican, claiming he is an Independent. But he IS a Republican and votes the Bush party line more than 90% of the time. He also has been supported by Dick Cheney and Karl Rove in fundraisers. He supports privatizing of Social Security and he has voted for Bush's Iraq war every single opportunity. By contrast he has opposed security American ports from terrorist attacks.

His opponent is Steve Harrison. Steve got a late start in 2006. He got no support from the DCCC until the last minute. He was outspent more than 10:1. And yet he got 43% of the vote.

Steve Harrison wants a rematch. And he is starting early. And the DCCC is considering supporting him.

In 2006 Harrison got a glowing endorsement from the NY Times. I met him personally and was quite impressed. He understand National Security and he understands that Iraq is an insane diversion from our real fight.

The DCCC is eyeing this race, but they aren't ready to commit. We need your help. Steve Harrison needs some good fundraising numbers and he needs them now.
