Progressive Democrat Issue 59: VIRGINIA FOCUS

I want to reiterate how important it is to fight the corruption in Congress. As a state rapidly becoming a swing state, Virginia can play a strong role in cleaning up Congress. In some ways the voice of Virginia calling for reform may be one of the most important steps to ending Congressional corruption. And it SHOULDN'T BE a partisan issue. I have been emphasizing that the Abramoff scandal is predominantly a Republican scandal, but Republicans should be just as angry as Democrats. Scandal and corruption makes the entire nation look bad and Senators and Representatives FROM BOTH PARTIES should be calling for an investigation and for the resignation of those most implicated in the scandal.

Virginians! Write your Senators and Representatives demanding a FULL investigation into the Abramoff scandal and demanding the resignation of all who are implicated in the Abramoff scandal, starting with Tom DeLay, Bob Ney, and Conrad Burns. If Virginia stands up against Congressional corruption, it would be a major step towards really cleaning up Congress.
