Mole's Progressive Democrat

The Progressive Democrat Newsletter grew out of the frustration of the 2004 election. Originally intended for New York City progressives, its readership is now national. For anyone who wants to be alerted by email whenever this newsletter is updated (usually weekly), please send your email address and let me know what state you live in (so I can keep track of my readership).

Progressive Democrat Issue 33: SUPREME COURT ACTION

Here is a suggestion from a reader:

Starting Tuesday (phone line operates business hours, M-F, 9 to 5 EST) contact the White House comment line, 1-202-456-1111, press the keypad for the # to leave a comment (can't remember if it's 1 or 2, but recording will indicate which is to leave a comment) and a live person answers, usually asks if you want to leave a comment for the president and then asks what state you're from, then tell the "nice" lady that you want the president to actually represent ALL the people, not just the narrow constituency of the religious right, in his Supreme Court nomination. Ask the President to nominate a moderate, not a conservative.

This is a DIRECT way to let the prez know where the country is on SCOTUS nomination.
